Vincent is a brilliant tour guide with a wide knowledge of the region, winemaking and also has a great sense of humour. Every question we fired at him he knew the answer, quite exceptional! The tour consisted of 3 different wineries, plenty of tastings and information to match! Overall an excellent day out and would recommend to anyone looking for a more « personal » experience as opposed to a commercialised wine tour. Lunch was great too, a true example of classic French cooking. Super!!!
Also, buy some wine at the cellar door, you won’t find it anywhere at the same price and its something to remember your experience by.
“Vincent – Your insider guide to Cote-Rotie wine”
Tripdavisor écrit le 27 mai 2015
This is really a must tour to experience something truly unique.
Signed up for a tour via email and Vincent responds very quickly with great information as this is his business and life passion – Wine Making and enjoying great wines.
Came to find out Vincent grew up in the Cote Rotie region with family still in, and left the region to pursue a career as a Winemaker with now 10+ years experience, taking him to several regions including Australia, New Zealand, and the vast majority of Europe, a walking wine wikipedia.
Now running tours for travelers, Vincent is very impromptu and is good friends with wine makers in the Cote Rotie region; also to note that wine from the Cote Rotie region is quite unique especially due to the soil and territory it grows on.
Expect great tastings of wine made from Syrah and Viognier grapes that are grow in the region.
If passing through Lyon, highly recommend Vincent’s tour.
“Funny and knowledgeable tour”
Tripadvisor écrit le 27 mai 2015
Vincent is a very good tour guide. He is a ex wine maker that has extensive knowledge of wine in this region and all over the world.
We took the full day tannin tour. We visited 3 wineries and stopped for lunch after the first winery. Detailed explanations were provided at all wineries.
Vincent has worked in the wineries in New Zealand and Australia and provided us with a good explanation of the differences.
“Fascinating tour – great insight into the Rhone wines”
Tripadvisor écrit le 11 mai 2015
We signed up for a tour at the last minute on a long weekend in Lyon. Vincent responded to e-mails quickly and efficiently, and we joined for a day tour of the Rhone Valley. The tour included 3 different vineyards, with an opportunity to meet the owners and taste a good variety of wines. Vincent speaks excellent English, and we came away with hugely improved knowledge of the region’s wines, and winemaking more broadly. The price was very reasonable, given we got to taste 12-15 different wines, all of which would be £20+ in a UK wine merchant. Lunch was at a very nice French bistro, and came to a very reasonable €15 each. Highly recommended.
“Passion-filled and knowledgeable insider tour”

My mother and I visited La Côte Rôtie with the excellent and remarkably well-versed (English-speaking) guide Vincent, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. We were picked up at our hotel and spent an afternoon visiting two vineyards (one which was hosting a foire aux vins with local producers), both tasting and learning about production methods. Vincent has worked as a wine maker himself, in France as well as New Zealand, Australia and South Africa, so his knowledge of the grapes, the methods of production and the differences among wine-producing countries is impeccable. He’s a tremendous source of information, and also knows personally the producers of the regions, allowing for a « behind the scenes » tour unlike anything I’ve experienced.
I’ve done a number of wine tours in France, and this was by far the best. I cannot recommend it highly enough. It’s an excellent outing for young and old, as well as connoisseurs and non-experts alike.
“Full day Rhone wineries tour.”
Tripadvisor écrit le 24 avril 2015
We visited 3 Côtes du Rhone wineries with lunch in a local village. Vincent is a friendly and informative guide. A wine maker himself and having grown up in the area, he is very knowledgeable. We tasted at least 6 quality wines at each winery.
The only downside for us was that we found the lunch a bit ordinary.
“A wonderful day with a passionate local.”
Tripadvisor écrit le 20 avril 2015
We had an amazing day with Vincent touring some wonderful vineyards. His knowledge of the local area is second to none. His passion for the area is inspiring. If you a looking for a personal wine tour then Vincent’s your man. We toured 3 vineyards, all very different from each other. It was wonderful to see how a small organic vineyard works compared to a bigger, more well known establishment. We also stopped for a spot of lunch at a lovely little cafe. The food was superb and fresh. At the end of the day we returned to our apartment feeling we’d experienced something special, something unique. It was simply a wonderful day with a passionate local.
“Authentic Insiders Tour”
Tripadvisor écrit le 12 avril 2015
Don’t expect a typical commercial, swanky, manicured landscape type of tour… Instead enjoy a glimpse into the age old tradition of making northern Rhone wines with a true son of the region and who is intimately knowledgeable. Thank you Vincent for « squeezing » us in and we are so glad we took the advice and recommendation of others that recently took the tour. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Lyon.
“A very personal, authentic experience – the best way to experience the Rhone region!”
Tripadvisor écrit le 2 avril 2015
This was an absolutely wonderful experience. My fiance and I contacted Vincent from Lyon during our stay there. He was very quick to respond and had excellent follow through as we made our plans for a Northern Rhone tour with him. He was more than a guide, he was a knowledgeable, fun, and interesting companion as we had very personal tastings and tours of wineries in the area. He had chosen wineries which nicely highlighted different practices in the area. The vintners were extremely kind and gracious – clearly having good relationships with Vincent. We enjoyed a lunch together, enjoying some fun ways to expand and test our wine sensory skills. Vincent was highly knowledgeable about wines in the area, the wine making process, grape growing practices and agriculture. Equally important – he is a really nice guy and a lot of fun to spend the day with. We are hoping to be back in the area soon, and will most certainly contact him or another day of tasting and touring.

We had such a wonderful time with you! We really enjoyed talking with you, and hearing about your life and interests as well as visiting the winemakers. To me, the character of the people is so important – so we were both so happy that this was important to you as well. We really enjoyed everyone we met!
Anyway – thank again so much! We will definitively call if we are back in this area in the summer, and will recommend you to others!!
“Très belle découverte”

Suite à un cadeau pour mon anniversaire, je suis propulsé avec Vincent à la découverte du milieu du vin et des vignobles de la région. J’en suis ressorti conquis. Une visite très intéressante et une journée que je n’oublierai pas. Mention spéciale pour Vincent qui sait transmettre sa grande passion pour le vin. A refaire très prochainement.

Once again, thank you so much for an excellent wine tour, we had so much fun! Who knew how much we loved red wine?! We haven’t drunk all our bottles, we saved the Chardonnays and the Beaujolais red wines we got from your old room mate to share with our families at home! We had to buy an extra suitcase though!
We really hope to catch up with you in the future! If we’re ever in Lyon again we will definitely hit you up for another tour! If you ever drag your girlfriend to Australia, look us up! We’d be more than happy to take you out in Sydney! Just shoot us an email any time.
Thanks again Vincent, it was great to meet you!
“Une journée passionnante et subjuguante!!!”

En totale novice du vin, j’ai passé une journée agréable avec un guide passionné de son métier qui a su être accessible et me faire découvrir le monde du vin. Le circuit est très bien fait. Les vignobles magnifiques et le choix du restaurant parfait!
Je suis enchantée par la journée que nous avons passé et il est certain que nous allons très vite faire un autre parcours!

We contacted Vincent with less than 24 hours notice after arriving in Lyon. We had an absolutely fantastic day, learning all about wine making and growing. I have been on wine tours before, but this was a more behind the scenes view! We couldn’t recommend Vincent more highly, he was knowledgeable and fun and spoke very good English. I would recommend this tour to anyone in Lyon!
“A wonderful experience for those who are already wine connoisseurs and for the good wine appretiators”
Tripadvisor écrit le 4 février 2015
I’m Brazilian living in the U.S and my husband is French. I love wine but I’m not an expert however my husband is almost an specialist (I think is in the French genes :-)). So this visit was made for us. Vincent, the person in charge of the visit, knows what he is doing, he isn’t a simply guide. He knows all about wine and the region visited too (and what a beautiful landscape). It’s an excellent way to see a different side of France apart from Paris. Great food, great wine, gentle people, it can’t get any better than that. By the way Vincent speaks English very well.
“Authentic French Wine Tour”
Tripadvisor écrit le 31 janvier 2015
As a student of wine studying in Switzerland (from California), my colleague and I wanted to get a little behind the scenes of the Northern Rhone regions (Côte Rôtie, Condrieu, Saint Joseph, etc..), as some of my favorite wines have come from these regions. Vincent (the tour director), grew up in Condrieu, and made wine himself many vintages there as well as Burgundy and Australia. He was very knowledgeable about the terroir and vineyards, as well as the wine and winemakers. Domaine Pierre Gaillard and Domaine du Montelliet of Stèphane Montez are two that stick out off the top of my head. Very good wines as well as a good variety from the different sub-appellations. I mainly enjoyed the authenticity, and personal feel of the experience without the touristic vibe. I will definitely be visiting the region and Vincent again in the future. Highly recommend it! CHEERS!
“An amazing and genuine French experience.”
Tripadvisor écrit le 31 janvier 2015
My partner and I are Australians travelling in France. This wine tour was the absolute highlight of our trip, highly recommend especially to other Aussies/English speaking tourists as out of Paris it is more difficult to find english speakers. Our guide, Vincent, was fluent and even had lived and worked in Australia so we instantly connected and shared stories. He is a winemaker himself and taught us so much about not only the area but also wine itself. The wine was all delicious and the wineries beautiful. It was a wonderful experience to see the less touristy side of France and experience the tradition of winemaking. 10/10 Thank you!
